Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence EU and Russia: Fact, Fake, Fiction "EURUF"
"Nature abhors a vacuum: whenever people do not know the truth, they fill the gaps with conjecture…" — this pattern of Bernard Shaw now is more relevant than ever. The borders between a fact and expression of opinion are blurred. The phenomenon of false, misleading news is at least as old as the printing press.
The strategic aims of the project are to contribute awareness raising of reliable and official information about EU of Russian wider society, to promote excellence in teaching and research in European Union studies, to foster dialogue between the academic world and wider society in Russia and EU, and development of mutual understanding between the EU and Russian societies.
Within the framework of the project "Russia and the EU: Truth and Fiction", a study aimed at analyzing the most popular sources of information, assessing the reliability of information, the ability to take a critical approach to news informationis being carried out.
